Eli Lilly and Company seeks a Principal Scientist to formulate and characterize novel nucleic acid delivery constructs. Responsibilities include :
- Evaluate nucleic acid delivery constructs and optimize related protocols.
- Troubleshoot experimental issues and visualize, summarize, and present results to team members.
- Apply a systematic and rigorous approach to scientific research and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
- Provide formal and informal mentorship and training to junior colleagues.
Minimum Requirements :
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering or a related field and 3 years of academic or employment experience with evaluation and characterization techniques from cell and tissue samples.
Academic or employment experience must include :
- 2 years of experience with in vitro characterization techniques e.g., cell culture, and cell transfection;
- 1 year of experience with in vitro / vivo endpoint analysis e.g., ELISA, and qPCR;
- 1 year of experience with immunohistochemistry;
- 1 year of experience with in vivo techniques, tissue collection and molecular endpoints on tissue samples;
- 6 months of experience with the formulation and analytical characterization of nucleic acids and nucleic acid-loaded nanoparticles;
- 6 months of experience with DLS, SEC, and Ribogreen;
- 6 months of experience with optimization of protocols for formulation of nucleic acid delivery constructs;
- 6 months of experience on nucleic acid constructs.
Part-time telecommuting may be permitted.
