Our A rated client company is a top Medical Malpractice Carrier looking for a Claims Representative who would be responsible for managing minimal to high-exposure claims and lawsuits in line with company guidelines. This includes thorough investigations, evaluating coverage and liability, setting reserves, developing case strategies, negotiating settlements, and ensuring timely file resolution. The role requires close collaboration with supervisors, legal counsel, and insureds to bring claims to an efficient and fair conclusion.

Claims Management

• Investigate claims, identify coverage issues, and assess liability and damages.
• Set and monitor reserves; recommend and approve service providers and legal counsel.
• Maintain accurate, well-documented files and ensure compliance with internal policies and external reporting requirements.
• Attend mediations, arbitrations, and trials; develop and execute negotiation strategies.
• Monitor litigation activity and provide oversight on defense counsel performance.
• Close claims files promptly after resolution, including issuing indemnity payments and reporting to relevant agencies.
• Collaborate with team members and cover absences as needed.
• Participate in team projects and claim reviews.
• Follow cybersecurity best practices and complete mandatory training.
• Enter and maintain data in claims systems and track key dates and events.
