As a Business Development Manager at Beam, you will play a pivotal role in driving the company's growth and furthering its mission as we expand into the US market.
You will be part of a dynamic team of Business Development and Marine Survey professionals, shaping and executing strategies to identify and secure new business opportunities, cultivate client relationships, and position Beam as an industry leader.
Your industry expertise, networking skills, and innovative thinking will contribute to the continued growth of the business.
We are expanding into the US market and taking on survey-related work and vessel services in the marine site characterization market.
To be successful you'll need to have significant experience working in the offshore renewable or offshore survey industry with a well-developed understanding of subsea projects including geophysical, geotechnical and environmental survey, UXO survey, identification and clearance as well as ROV, or AUV-based scopes.

Objectives & Responsibilities :
Beam is an exciting and dynamic environment meaning these are likely to change as we grow. Upon joining your objectives and responsibilities will include :
- Identify and build relationships with new and existing clients, develop partnerships, and products / services to expand Beam's market share across verticals, specifically in the US markets on the East Coast.
- Identify new and upcoming tendering opportunities for marine site characterization, conveying all job specific tooling and personnel requirements to the team to create a competitive proposal.
- Lead on bringing together the necessary internal resources to create and deliver effective client-specific technology-enabled solutions
- Create and develop strategies to successfully tap into new business opportunities, documenting these in formal plans.
- Help develop supply chain management for the East Coast in survey-related personnel, tools and equipment
- Set and manage metrics related to new opportunities for the sales team & take timely action to ensure targets are achieved
- Provide accurate, timely management information on new business opportunities, sales forecasts and reporting to help inform executive decision making as required.
- Help support vessel operations with advice on equipment and tooling and best practices
- Attend conferences and events to establish and nurture relationships with industry partners.
- Stay updated on industry trends and provide valuable insights for Beam's technology roadmaps.
- Provide the business with any industry intelligence (e.g. opportunities / risks) as necessary
- Actively work towards exceeding sales targets to contribute to the company's growth taking timely action to address situations where targets / forecasts are at risk
- Possess a deep understanding of Beam's products, differentiators, and industry competition.
- Strategically position Beam to excel in competitive tenders and win new business.
- Conduct regular market analysis to understand drivers behind Beam's business acquisition performance.

- Significant experience working in the offshore renewable or offshore survey industry
- Substantial networking experience with a comprehensive industry address book of key contacts and decision-makers in the USA and on the East Coast.
- Well-developed understanding of subsea projects, including geophysical, geotechnical and environmental surveys, UXO surveys, identification and clearance, ROV, or AUV-based scopes.
- The ability to formulate and execute successful customer strategies that align with and drive business strategy in an emerging US marketplace.
- The ability to identify and present technical solutions to meet the needs of our customers.
- Technical solutions background and ability identify the most suitable sensor package and personnel for individual customer requirements and objectives.
- In-depth knowledge of the latest industry trends, particularly in the path towards autonomy.
- A demonstrated track record of successfully identifying and converting substantial business opportunities, especially in the site characterization category of work.
- Excellent relationship management ability capable of building, nurturing and repairing stakeholder relationships as required to impact revenue objectives.
- Highly effective interpersonal skills across all mediums.
- Proficiency using CRMs such as SalesForce to produce insightful management information.
- A committed, determined work ethic coupled with the resilience and tolerance required to generate results in an emerging market.
