Job Summary : The Electrical Construction Project Manager will be responsible for managing the planning, coordination, and execution of electrical construction projects.
This role involves overseeing all aspects of the project, from design coordination, scheduling, and budgeting, to ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and to high standards of quality.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, communication, and technical skills, with a background in electrical construction.
Key Responsibilities :
- Project Planning : Develop and manage project schedules, work plans, and budgets. Coordinate with the project team to establish project timelines, goals, and milestones.
- Team Leadership : Lead the project team, including electricians, subcontractors, and support staff, ensuring clear communication, task assignment, and accountability.
- Budget & Cost Control : Monitor project costs and manage budgets to ensure profitability. Review and approve invoices, change orders, and subcontractor agreements.
Identify and mitigate potential cost overruns.
Scheduling & Coordination : Work with clients, architects, and engineers to coordinate project schedules and electrical designs.
Ensure that materials and labor are available to meet project timelines.
Client Relations : Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, keeping them informed of project progress and addressing any concerns or requests.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Quality Assurance : Ensure all electrical work is completed in accordance with industry standards, project specifications, and local codes.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and address any quality issues.
- Risk Management : Identify potential risks and challenges that could impact project timelines or budgets. Implement solutions to address problems quickly and effectively.
- Safety Compliance : Promote and enforce a culture of safety on all job sites. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Project Documentation : Maintain accurate project documentation, including submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), change orders, and progress reports.
Ensure timely project closeout and turnover.
Vendor & Subcontractor Management : Work with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
Oversee subcontractor performance and ensure adherence to project requirements.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management within the electrical construction industry.
- Proven experience managing electrical projects in commercial, industrial, or institutional sectors.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project) and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide project teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage client relationships and work with diverse teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.
- OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
