ENTEK is seeking applications for a Network Engineer role to join us on-site at our Henderson, Nevada location (relocation within 40 miles of Henderson is required).

As our Network Engineer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency of computer networks for users by ensuring the integrity and security of a highly available network infrastructure.

You will conduct thorough analyses and testing of network performance, proactively identifying and resolving congestion, latency, and availability issues.

In preparation for the worst-case scenario, your responsibility will include assessing operational risks, implementing proactive measures, and participating in disaster recovery planning.

You’ll have the opportunity to design, implement, optimize, and lead complex global network infrastructures including LANs, WANs, VPNs, SD-WAN, and VOIP systems.

This work will include evaluating network technology vendors, negotiating contracts, and managing relationships to ensure SLAs are met.

As needed, you will provide remote and on-site support to engineers and end users / customers during installation.

In support of ENTEK’s daily operations and growth efforts, you will provide advanced troubleshooting for escalated network problems, and lead root cause analysis to propose and implement corrective actions, ensuring business continuity.

You will lead efforts to share information and educate team members through maintenance of network configurations documentation and operational procedures.

Working Environment

The hours for this role are Monday-Friday, starting at 7 : 00 a.m.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. Incumbents will complete tasks that require finger dexterity, reaching, handling, talking, hearing, and vision abilities including near / far, color, and focusing.

Occasionally, the incumbent will be required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, couch, and crawl. The incumbent may be required to lift and / or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field. An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
  • Five (5) years of experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-scale networks.
  • Three (3) years of hands-on experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Proficiency in network protocols, technologies (Wi-Fi and VLAN configuration) and standards (e.g. TCP / IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, DNS, DHCP).
  • Experience with multiple technologies, including Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, Aruba, and Dell (Network) technology.
  • Experience with designing, implementing, and supporting a globally distributed network environment.
  • Knowledgeable in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Java).
  • Expertise in network practices and troubleshooting complex network issues.
  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
  • Experience with systems infrastructure and management tools.
  • Industry certifications such as CCNP, JNCIS, or equivalent.
  • Satisfactory results from a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Satisfactory results from a pre-employment background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of SDN, network virtualization, and cloud networking.
  • Knowledge of configuration management practices (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework and best practices.
  • Customer-focused mindset, with demonstrated skill in managing expectations, providing proactive status updates, and producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a distributed team in multiple time zones.
  • Ability to travel domestically and globally when needed.
