Job Summary
In this newly created role, our ideal candidate is a hands-on team player tasked with keeping a near launch stage facility prepared to manufacture next-generation lithium-ion battery packs.
This is a dynamic role leading and assisting with all maintenance activities while supporting manufacturing, assembly, and facility operations to meet customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance work.
- Assist with equipment installations and start-up.
- Perform tooling changeovers.
- Perform electromechanical technical troubleshooting.
- Setup and maintain manufacturing and assembly equipment.
- Document maintenance activity as required.
- Perform housekeeping duties.
- Assist with maintaining spare parts system.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining a PM system.
- Minimize unscheduled downtime.
- Perform work while in compliance with ergonomic guidelines.
- Use, verify, and support lockout tag-out procedure including all applicable de-energization methods.
- Follow all applicable electrical codes while performing electrical work (e.g., arc flash and shock protection).
- Participate in PFMEA, work instruction, and continuous improvement reviews.
- Ensure that equipment meets all applicable industrial standards (e.g., no missing guards).
- Identify and implement continuous improvement projects (e.g., cost reduction, efficiency improvement).
- Assist with execution of facility projects.
- Support weekend and off-shift work as required.
- Setup, maintain and operate the machine shop equipment.
- Maintain the maintenance shop.
- Support the production operator.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Adhere to corporate, federal, and state employment policies.
- Adhere to all company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications
- Maintenance Technician associate degree, certificate program(s) or equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in an automated manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of facility-related aspects (e.g., HVAC, air compressor, pumps, chillers, etc.).
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to work side by side with service providers as required to maintain equipment and facility.
- Ability to follow directions as assigned.
- Ability to lift and pull fifty pounds multiple times per shift.
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
- Ability to perform the job while working at elevated heights (e.g., in an aerial lift or on a roof).
- Ability to work while bending or kneeling.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical issues.
- Must be a team player.
- Knowledge of PLC-based equipment.
- Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems.
- Knowledge of MRP Systems.
- Knowledge of quality and environment management systems.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office, ERP systems, CMMS.
