Practice Overview
Rivertown Internal Medicine and Pediatrics is a collaborative, patient-centered practice consisting of five Physicians and four Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). We provide comprehensive care for patients of all ages, managing a wide range of health conditions with a focus on building lasting relationships with our patients, their families, and each other. Our supportive care team includes eleven Medical Assistants (Ma's and nurse Tech's), four Patient Service Representatives (PSRs), a Behavioral Health Specialist, and a Care Manager. Together, we work to create a respectful, efficient, and compassionate environment that prioritizes high-quality care and teamwork. Medical Assistants play a vital role in our practice by taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, assisting with procedures, and supporting clinical operations. We are looking for adaptable, detail-oriented individuals with strong organizational and communication skills who thrive in a fast-paced and team-oriented setting. Essential Functions
- Facilitates efficient patient flow, prepares the patient for visits / admissions, and provides specific services and education as determined by the providers in accordance with licensure and policy.
- Performs administrative duties to ensure all information is current and updated, including maintenance and monitoring of electronic health record in basket.
- Maintains and cleans the environment, work area, equipment, and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriate department / unit personnel.
- Greets and communicates with patients and significant others in a manner consistent with caring and respect. Communicates and collaborates with other healthcare team members to ensure continuity and quality of care and coordination of services.
- Collects and monitors patient data, reporting patient data and patient needs as directed. Documents care according to documentation guidelines and lists patient chargeable items / services according to standards.
- Ensures continuous monitoring of processes and services for quality, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency. Engages in process and quality improvement activities. Implements recommendations to improve operational efficiency and introduce new services for areas of responsibility.
- Engages in continuous study of the professional field, including best practices, to maintain competence, knowledge, and skills necessary for satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities. Completes required continuous training and education, including department-specific requirements.
