Eurecat provides refineries, gas processing facilities, petrochemical and chemical plants with a wide variety of catalyst processing services and products including, but not limited to : regeneration and / or reactivation of spent catalysts, pre-activation (ex-situ sulfiding) of fresh hydroprocessing catalysts, catalyst inventory management and waste management.
Position Summary :
The Project Engineer will be a professional in Eurecat’s engineering team responsible for :
- Supporting the development of long-range plant projects planning,
- Stay on top of the project’s scheduling, budgeting, and cost controls.
- Work with the engineering team to define project scope and cost estimates.
- Define specification for contracting third party engineering and execution providers.
- Support procurement to find the best suppliers for the projects.
- Provide operational support and oversee the third-party engineering and construction providers.
This position is based in Pasadena TX, reporting directly to the Process Technology Manager, and it will support both Eurecat US sites, in Pasadena TX and McAlester OK.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Manage the Capex project portfolio.
- Provide leadership and directions to the project team, that may be comprised of internal and external service providers.
- Define and prepare job scopes and cost estimates.
- Create and direct the controls for assigned projects.
- Provide or direct the appropriate level of project documentation during the project and following completion to assure compliance with Corporate, Federal, State and other governing bodies policies.
- Work closely with the procurement department, supporting the activities critical to the projects and to ensure of having the up-to-date information of services contracting and supply of goods relevant to the projects.
- Identify project problems with costs or schedules and develop plan of action to resolve them.
- Communicate the status of developmental activities to business sponsors using written and verbal communications.
- Prepare project progress reports such as cost forecasts, and scheduling progress.
- Manage projects in a manner that assures safety, reliability, environmental and human impacts are mitigated while meeting the project goals (including but not limited to schedule, budget, safety and overall quality).
- Prepare and deliver presentations that communicate project proposals, descriptions and status to upper management, governmental agencies and / or the public.
- Speak clearly, using a high level of verbal skills and listen carefully.
- Ensure ongoing improvement through evaluation of current processes.
- Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and high level of performance.
- Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.
- Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets, employees, and the public.
Qualifications and Requirements :
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required :
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferable in Chemical or Industrial Engineering,
- 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing, chemical and / or petrochemical environment, working in engineering and / or capital projects planning and execution.
- Knowledge of project engineering processes and procedures.
- Demonstrated experience performing engineering for Conceptual Studies, FEED, and Detailed Engineering
- Proficient with project management software / tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Smartsheet, etc.)
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks successfully and simultaneously, and work with minimal direct supervision.
- Experience in developing, implementing, and successfully managing operating budgets.
- Ability to work with a team, take directions from supervisor(s), high degree of attention to details, follow work rules, prioritize work schedule, and adhere to established work schedules.
- Ability to identify and establish expectations in an employee / employer relationship (subordinate / manager).
- Solid communication, motivation and interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage projects(s) that will include working with individuals with varying disciplines, backgrounds and experience levels.
Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge : (not required, but advantageous for this position)
- Experience in Engineering and Project Execution involving analyzers, combustion processes and solid handling systems.
- 2+ years’ experience with Process Controls Engineering.
- Project Management Professional Certification.
Travel :
There will be some travel required for this position (
