Team Member Description

Reports To : Shift Manager or MOD

Position Summary :

Reporting to the MOD, team members provide Skyline Time service to our guests in an enthusiastic, friendly, outgoing, fun, wholesome, clean, and safe manner.

It is essential that all team members prioritize Quick Quality Customer Service while adhering to any / all protocols regarding safety, sanitation, and product quality.

While each team member is hired for a primary position team members may be asked to assist in fulfilling the duties of other positions.

It is desirable that each team member be cross-training in every duty / position.

Server :

Responsible for dining room and counter service to guests, providing each patron with a unique and uplifting experience .

Must process guest orders to ensure that all items are prepared accurately and on a timely basis. Must maintain a clean and safe dining room for all guests and fellow team members.

Delivers Skyline Time hospitality so that all guests leave happy and satisfied.

  • Ensures every regular and 1st time guest has an outstanding and memorable dining experience.
  • Greets guests, assists with special needs.
  • Ensures quality products are served in a timely fashion; Last Line of Defense with regard to accuracy, food presentation, and portion.
  • Maintains product & menu knowledge; knows the ingredients and presentation requirements of all items.
  • Inputs all orders and special requests into the Point of Sale system without error.
  • Suggestively sells and answers questions regarding the menu and Skyline services.
  • Prepares and delivers beverages, silverware, crackers, and food.
  • Observes guest dining experience and responds to all guest requests or needs.
  • Ensures all guest checks are accurate and delivered to the tables. Confirm that all cash out procedures are performed for appropriately for dining room guests.

Basic cash skills are required.

  • Must clear / clean tables, chairs, booths, server stations, and floors. Sanitize the dining room, restrooms, and other high traffic areas as directed.
  • Maintains & stocks a presentable server station; ensures proper product rotation and labeling
  • Completes assigned cleaning, stocking, and side work duties per restaurant guidelines.
  • Performs any and all other tasks assigned.

Production :

Responsible for preparing food orders quickly and according to standard recipes to ensure quality and to avoid waste. Communicates with other Production and Serving team members to expedite guest orders.

Ensures that all items are prepared accurately and on a timely basis. Must maintain a clean and safe production area for all guests and fellow team members.

  • Greets guests, assists with special needs.
  • Prepares any / all menu items according to Skyline recipe specifications while utilizing food safety / sanitation procedures and limiting waste.
  • Maintains & stocks a presentable station / kitchen area; ensures proper product rotation and labeling.
  • Maintains product & menu knowledge; knows the ingredients and presentation requirements of all items.
  • Assists with drive-thru, cash / carry-out, DoorDash and counter guests when necessary. Inputs all orders into Point of Sale system and performs cash out procedures.

Basic cash skills are required.

  • Must clean / sanitize counters, floors, dishes, prep areas, steam tables, position stations, storage areas and other high traffic areas as directed.
  • Completes assigned cleaning, stocking, and side work duties per restaurant guidelines.
  • Performs any and all other tasks assigned.

Other Requirements & Physical Demands :

Consistently displays a professional / appropriate image and appearance while representing Skyline Chili (in all aspects of dress, behavior, speech, etc).

Uniforms are required.

  • Must be enthusiastic & customer service oriented; willing to serve the public with a positive attitude at ALL times.
  • Must be able to handle stressful situations in a calm and pleasant manner.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks.
  • Be prepared to train new onboarding team members in adherence to the established training system.
  • Must participate in all required training programs and store meetings.
  • Must follow all health and safety laws / procedures. Frequent hand washing and proper bodily hygiene is required. May be asked to complete a ServSafe training course..
  • Must be able to effectively and SAFELY use all kitchen equipment. Must follow all protocols while using or cleaning / maintaining kitchen equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lb.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and stooping are probable. Job requires substantial repetitive motions of the arms, wrists, and hands.
  • Basic cash skills are required; must follow all required procedures outlined in Skyline’s Cash Handling policy.
  • Must be able to perform all functions of a production employee.
  • Performs any and all other tasks assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements :

Education : Some high school education required. Must be at least 15 years of age.

Experience : Previous restaurant experience preferred, but not required.

Specific Skills : Must possess basic reading, writing, math, and computer skills

Working Conditions :

Fast-paced, quick service restaurant environment. Speed and Quality Customer Service are required priorities.
