What you'll be doing

As the Head of Product, you will be responsible for Duffl’s product end-to-end, including setting the long-term vision, strategy, and roadmap.

You’ll work alongside the CEO to develop and oversee the implementation of product strategies across the business, including UI / UX design, product management, data analysis, and funnel & referral optimization.

In this role, you will be responsible for evolving Duffl’s strategy to serve the diverse needs of customers, as well as optimizing the customer journey.

You will own acquisition, engagement, retention, and monetization. Your strategic expertise will enable you to drive and push forward a strong data-driven culture throughout the Company and influence our growth strategy.

About the Work

In this role, you will be expected to :

  • Benchmark against best-in-class experiences, identify unique opportunities, remove friction along the customer journey and improve retention.
  • Lead weekly sprints to hit targets, iterating on past successes and failures with quick turnarounds on adapted approach to reach growth ambitions.
  • Lead analytical efforts supporting our business teams in an unstructured environment to identify insights and improve decision-making.
  • Drive alignment on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure business results and evaluate the health of the business.
  • Break-out of lower funnel efforts by looking for opportunities across the full customer journey and improve the customer experience.
  • Drive product development with a world-class team of Engineers and Data Scientists to deliver impact for our business and users.
  • Influence cross-functional partners and Leadership team. Communicate concisely and influence outcomes.
  • Set aggressive yet realistic and practical goals for the team with clear objectives regarding measurement, results, and accountability of actions.
  • Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations to pursue in future products.
  • Foster a culture of data-informed decision making.

30 / 60 / 90 Day Expectations 30 Days

  • Deeply understand Duffl’s existing product infrastructure and processes.
  • Comprehend Company’s customer journey as it exists today, including identifying key areas of improvement.
  • Identify inefficiencies and areas of opportunities for Duffl to prioritize and focus on.
  • Assist with ad hoc analyses.

60 Days

  • Create departmental OKR’s.
  • Implement a process to cross-collaborate and ensure the rest of the Company is kept up-to-date and works in unity towards the shared goal.
  • Map out and analyze full customer journey to optimize every stage of the funnel and improve customer experience.
  • Assist with ad hoc analyses.

90 Days

  • Create and socialize your vision for improving our internal applications and tooling.
  • Identify new strategic initiatives for Duffl to prioritize to help achieve or beat year goals.
  • Establish self as a strategic thought partner to the CEO and Leadership team for how tech can shape the strategic direction of our business and unlock additional growth.

About You

3-5+ years of Product experience at a B2C start-up

A variety of soft skills and experience may be required for the following role Please ensure you check the overview below carefully.

  • Extensive experience in building and managing internal apps and platforms, preferably in ecommerce or on-demand delivery businesses
  • Deep understanding of customer behaviors and motivations in the mobile-first world
  • Ability to turn business needs and opportunities into clear PRDs and specs for the engineering team to build
  • Know how to use data to inform sound product decisions (SQL proficiency preferred)
  • Experienced in project management of large and complex projects
  • A proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and to build strong working relationships with a variety of demographics of employees (college students to experienced professionals)
  • Demonstrated technical acumen; ability to influence and debate solutions with technical team members, to understand technology solutions and potential tradeoffs and to represent technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • A strong leader and excellent communicator who can drive consensus and articulate program recommendations and tradeoffs to senior executives
  • Outcome oriented leader who asks hard questions, articulates the desired outcome and works collaboratively to create a path to achieve it;

proven ability to bring simplicity and measurable results to complex situations

Ability to work independently; able to successfully operate in areas of uncertainty and ambiguity; self-starter and quick learner;

calm and efficient under pressure

Be versatile and be able to prioritize / handle multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment with tough deadlines.

Nice to Have

  • 1-3 years of experience in a fast-paced and demanding industry (preferably investment banking, PE or consulting)
  • Experience forecasting growth in seasonal businesses and / or retail business models.
