Job Description And Responsibilities

Install, configure, and manage IBM DataPower Gateway appliances.

Implement security policies and configure SSL / TLS connections.

Monitor system performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise.

Perform regular system backups and recovery procedures.

Administer, monitor, and manage the API gateway infrastructure to ensure high availability and optimal performance.

Work with development teams to design and implement API strategies.

Develop and enforce API policies and procedures.

Manage API security measures, including authentication, authorization, and threat protection.

Coordinate with IT and development teams to troubleshoot and resolve API-related issues.

Conduct regular reviews of the API gateway performance and make recommendations for improvements.

Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies in API management and integration.

Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.

Implement and maintain web services on DataPower such as REST, SOAP.

Document system configurations, updates, and propose improvements.

Conduct system performance tuning and capacity planning.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership / site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.

g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.

g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Proven 4+ years experience as an IBM DataPower Administrator.
  • Strong knowledge of IBM DataPower Gateway appliances.
  • Familiarity with security protocols, SSL / TLS, OAuth, and web services.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of SOA and API architectures would be a plus.
  • Certification in IBM DataPower administration is preferred.

Additional Information

Work Hours : Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements : This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental / Physical Requirements : This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY : The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 119,100.00 to 172,600.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable).

Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
