Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group is looking for an experienced full-time assistant manager to oversee the design team’s schedules, maintain and develop department workflows, and act as a liaison to the editorial, production, managing editorial, publicity, marketing departments and out of house vendors.
The candidate must have exceptional organization and communication skills and have a strong interest in developing systems and workflows.
What you'll do :
- Manage project deadlines and key dates
- Update and implement workflows as departmental needs evolve
- Track department materials such as : book images, PME forms, launch meeting materials, cover reveal images, award stickers
- Liaise with other departments to manage above mentioned material requests
- Liaise with out of house vendors, communicate deadlines and priorities, represent company values and standards
- Manage company cover meetings and agendas / communications related to these meetings
- Assist with seasonal title assignments
- Complete data entry and run reports from Biblio
- Maintain design drive resources
- Gather / organize materials for company meetings
What you'll bring :
- Expert use of Google Suite, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Mac Platform, skilled at data entry and running reports
- Impeccable organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Proactive with tracking schedules and managing projects
- Ability to create and implement new processes
- Strong problem solver and collaborator
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Firm knowledge of the bookmaking process, from early stages to printed books
Ideal Experience :
- 3-5 years publishing experience
- Production editorial, managing editorial, and production management experience is a plus
- No design background needed but knowledge of the Creative Suite is a plus
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree, or equivalent work experience
This role will have an annual salary of $55,000 - $62,000.
