Housekeeper
JOB SUMMARY :
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the detox facility. This role is essential to ensuring infection control, patient safety, and overall comfort for individuals receiving withdrawal management and residential treatment services. The Housekeeper performs daily cleaning, disinfecting, and restocking duties in compliance with OhioMHAS , Joint Commission , and facility standards.

DUTIES OF THE POSITION :
The duties of the position include, but are not limited to, the following :
1. Cleaning & Sanitation
- Clean and disinfect patient rooms, bathrooms, common areas, nursing stations, and offices on a regular schedule.
- Perform terminal cleaning of patient rooms following discharge.
- Maintain floors by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and spot-cleaning carpets as needed.
- Collect and dispose of trash, biohazard waste, and recyclables according to facility protocols.
2. Infection Control & Safety
Follow infection prevention and control procedures in alignment with facility policy, OhioMHAS, and Joint Commission standards.Use appropriate cleaning agents, protective equipment, and chemical safety guidelines.Immediately report any maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate department.3. Stocking & Supplies
Replenish soap, hand sanitizer, paper towels, toilet paper, and other hygiene supplies.Maintain an organized cleaning cart and storage areas.Report low inventory levels to supervisor to ensure adequate stock.ADDITIONAL DUTIES :
Ability to understand, speak, read, write in English.Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence in English.Effectively speak before groups of customers or employees.Work all hours required to fulfill job duties and responsibilities (including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed).Ability to carry / lift boxes weighing between 10 and 25 pounds.Must be able to ascend and descend stairs regularly as part of daily job duties.Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :

Previous housekeeping, janitorial, or environmental services experience (healthcare setting preferred).Knowledge of infection control practices and safe handling of cleaning chemicals (training provided if needed).Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team.SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS :
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to co-facilitate group discussions in a non-judgmental and supportive manner.Understanding of evidence-based practices and therapeutic modalities for substance use disorder treatment.Ability to complete clinical documentation in an electronic medical record.Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.Ability to lift up to 25 lbs., stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive cleaning tasks.COMPUTER SKILLS : (Select required level for each application)
