Description
The Division of Pediatric General Surgery in the Department of Surgery at the University of Washington, School of Medicine is accepting applications and nominations for a full-time faculty position in pediatric general surgery at Seattle Children’s Hospital (SCH).
The faculty position is at the rank of Associate Professor without tenure by reason of funding (WOT) or Professor WOT. Associate and full professors WOT hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30).
Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.
This position will have an anticipated start date in Fall 2023.
This position will provide a broad spectrum of pediatric general surgery services and will be based at SCH. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.
At the rank of Associate Professor (WOT) : The base salary range for this position will be : $37,500-$41,667 per month ($450,000-$500,004 annually).
At the rank of Professor (WOT) : The base salary range for this position will be : $45,834-$54,167 per month ($550,008-$650,004 annually).
Base salaries at all ranks will be commensurate with candidate experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University.
Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through CUMG and / or payments for call participation.
Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in university benefit determinations and calculations.
Compensation provided by CUMG practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.
Prospective candidates must have an MD (or foreign equivalent) and be certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Surgery (or foreign equivalent).
Must be licensed to practice medicine in Washington by the time of appointment. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.
S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
