Summary :
Reporting to the Controller and working with the Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) function, contributing to strategic decision making through detailed financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting.
The position will collaborate closely with key business units, to provide actionable insights that drive the company’s growth.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop, maintain, and enhance detailed financial models to support annual budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning.
- Perform scenario analysis to support strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with department leaders to gather data, analyze business performance, and forecast financial outcomes.
- Provide recommendations based on financial performance to drive efficiency and profitability.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results to senior management.
- Conduct variance analysis between actual results and budgeted or forecasted financials, explaining discrepancies and trends.
- Identify potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Perform detailed cost-benefit analysis for projects, including R&D investments, product development and operational processes
- Support decision-making regarding capital expenditures and resource allocation.
- Analyze financial data and industry trends to provide competitive insights, especially around product pricing and market positioning.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
- Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and data.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related field. MBA or CPA is a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in biotechnology, life sciences or healthcare industries.
- Experience in FP&A, financial modeling and forecasting required
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial modeling, pivot tables, complex formulas)
- Experience with financial planning tools (e.g. Hyperion, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Familiarity with ERP systems and data analysis software is required / preferred
- NetSuite expertise is ideal / required?
- Knowledge of biotechnology industry, particularly in genomics or life sciences tools.
- Understanding of R&D cycles, product development costs, and regulatory requirements in biotechnology highly desirable.
- Must be highly organized, disciplined, and efficient in meeting deliverables
- Strategic thinker with strong financial and business acumen.
