Job Description :

Note : This role is specific to PVD tools (chambers vacuum) so thecandidates need to have a prior background in PVD tools (chambersvacuum).

Responsibilities :

Responsible to monitorinspect setup calibrate and maintain semiconductor processequipment in the field to prevent equipment down time.

Troubleshoot hardware and software related issues and implementsolutions

Collect data for software related issues anddiscuss with headquarter in Japan.

Accurately documentall maintenance activity and provide field servicereports.

Install equipment control software and maintainrecord of software revision history.

Participate in theinstallation of equipment at customers sites.

Monitorstock level of service parts and equipment to ensure adequateinventory is available for repair work.

Provide trainingand assistance to other technicians.

Effectivelycommunicate with customers Canon USA and CanonAnelva Japanemployees

Escalate serious or complicated repairproblems to senior level team members.

Qualifications :

23years of experience with PVD or semiconductor vacuum equipment withAS degree is required bachelors degree in engineering ispreferred.

Candidates without AS or BS may be consideredwith equivalent experience in the same field

Multichamber cluster systems and robotics experience is highlypreferred

Ability to understand electrical andmechanical drawings for troubleshooting

Experience withPLC and other software applications is a plus

Ability towork independently following 36 months of on the jobtraining

Must have analytical skills for problemanalysis and resolution

Decide on problem solving roadmap and follow methodical means to resolution

Decide andrecommend spare and consumable parts for PMs and repairs

Job may require domestic travel up to 25% and international travelfor training.

May require considerable travel throughoutsales territory (valid drivers license and acceptable drivingrecord necessary).

Additionally because this position requiresdriving for company business as an essential function of the jobmust remain in compliance with company safety guidelines andpolicies

Position may require ability to work flexibleshifts

Requires ability to lift approx. 50lbs.

Bilingual Communication skills helpful but notrequired. (Japanese / English)

Substantial amount ofstanding walking typing grasping talking and hearing.

Substantial amount of driving required sometime for multiple hoursat a time.

Occasionally kneeling crouching stoopingreaching pushing pulling and climbing stairs or ladder.

The worker is required to have close visual acuity with or withoutcorrective lenses for extensive reading; visual inspectioninvolving small defects small parts and / or operation of machines(including inspection);

using measurement devices; and / or assemblyor fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.

Working primarily in a cleanroom environment (wearing full cleanroom suit facemask gloves safety glasses)

The workEnvironment may include a variety of physical conditions such asproximity to moving mechanical parts electrical current working onscaffolding and high places exposure to chemicals ultraviolet lightand lasers working in enclosed spaces close quarters narrow aislesor passageways.

The work environment may include workingin highly time sensitive situations requiring quick resolutionincluding equipment problems.
