MA Float PRN
The MA Float prn will be responsible for the coordination of direct patient care activities and providing clinical support to providers within one of our clinical practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities based on Training and Certification Scope :
Able to respond to patient call backs and phone in prescription refill requests.
Able to administer medication and injections, as directed by Physician / Provider
Able to perform phlebotomy on patients, as directed by the Physician / Provider
Able to perform EKG’s, PFT’s spirometry, nebulizer treatments and ear irrigations, and other procedures, as required by the practice and directed by the Physician / Provider
Able to perform in-office lab testing such as glucose testing, strep screens, pregnancy tests, urinalysis, and HgA1c as directed by the physician / provider.
Able to perform sterilization on instruments used for minor procedures / surgeries according to the CDC recommended guidelines.
Maintains all certifications / licensures as required by the scope of the role being performed.
Minimum Requirements :
Upon hire these disciplines will be assessed for clinical competency and be required to successfully complete an MA orientation externship as well as complete any additional training as required by the Provider.
High School Diploma or General Education Equivalency plus :
Basic computer skills, specifically with navigating within databases containing highly confidential information, plus.
Basic Life Support and other advanced training as appropriate to be received within 90 days, plus one of the following
Prior working experience in a medical office / clinic performing clinical MA duties.
Or a Certified MA from the National Health Career Association (NHA).
Or completed any MA education program, but has not received certification as of yet.
