Job Title : Senior Data Engineer

Location : San Francisco, CA; SS&C Technologies, Inc. (Hybrid telecommuting benefit)

Salary : $186,846 - $200,000 per year.

Job Responsibilities

• Create a leading cloud platform with the latest big data, cloud native and machine learning technologies.
• Build and implement models in a production environment for revenue-driving products.
• Create and maintain overall optimal data pipeline architecture.
• Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
• Manage data migrations / conversions and troubleshoot data processing issues.
• Create the pipeline for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from various sources.
• Build machine learning functions to assist with data automation and preparation.
• Work closely with analytics engineers and data warehouse engineers to build analytics tools and dashboards.
• Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members.
• Collaborate with data and analytics experts to enhance data system functionality.
• Discover innovative machine learning solutions that drive business value.

Minimum Requirements

Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology Management, or related field.

Alternate Education and Experience : Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the same fields plus 5 years of relevant experience.

Must Have Skills

• Proven ability getting data through API with languages such as Python, Node.js, Java, C#, Scala, etc.
• Proven ability with big data platforms.
• Proficient coding skills and strong algorithm and data structure knowledge.
• Knowledge of at least one of the following tools : Hadoop, Spark, Presto, Hive, or Airflow.
• Proven ability in transforming data, developing data structures, and setting up data pipelines or workflows.
• Experience with software engineering best practices including git and version control systems.
• Solid communication skills for explaining complex data pipelines to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Excellent writing and documentation skills.
