Policy and Communications Action Officer, Junior

Key Role :

Provide a Department of Defense (DoD) client with support on specific needs such as congressional affairs, public affairs, administrative duties, or financial analysis.

Support the development and implementation of various DoD strategies and policies, analyze risk-based strategies for legislative planning, and develop strategic communications materials for the client.

Support internal firm initiatives, including overseeing the development of internal applications and business development initiatives.

Basic Qualifications :

  • 1+ years of experience in the legislative field, including with Capitol Hill, government affairs, and think tank
  • Experience with regular direct client interactions, including supporting project delivery, delivering presentations, leading client meetings, and working independently, creatively, and analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite tools, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of the Congressional Authorization and Appropriations process
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications :

  • Experience with Navy, Defense, Joint Staff, or Combatant Command (COCOM) staff
  • Experience working on Capitol Hill as a Congressional Staffer or in a DoD or Navy Office of Legislative Affairs
  • Knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Python
  • Ability to track and comprehend acquisition and procurement goals as they move through the legislative cycle, and plan, organize, and execute tasks
  • Clearance : Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information;

Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.

The projected compensation range for this position is $47,000.00 to $96,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
