A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MEDICAL ASSISTANT
Reporting directly to the Deputy Director, the medical assistant will have primary duties in care coordination and medical assistance.
The main function of this position is to coordinate whole person care, bi-directional care and care coordination for Consejo's patients.
Assist with pre-visit planning and answering phones, triaging calls, and serving as a primary point of contact for patients and psychiatric staff.
The Medical Assistant will help with reconciling medications, labs, scribing for providers and provide health education for our clients both in English / Spanish.
Including acting as a liaison between patients / families and health care providers and responding to emergencies or disasters per clinic protocol.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A BEHAVIORAL HEALTH THERAPIST
- High School diploma or GED required and 1plus years' experience
- Must have Certified Medical Assistant in the State of Washington and must be familiar with the State's conduct and standards of practice
- Current American Heart Association BLS card
- Knowledge of billing, coding and / or medical terminology
- Prior experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast-paced environment, including handling confidential data with discretion
- Proficient in speaking, reading and writing both English and Spanish.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, plan and prioritize.
- Demonstrated experience in an office setting.
- Ability to work with all levels of staff and management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
WORK SCHEDULE
This full-time Medical Assistant position works a typical schedule of 8 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday .
SALARY
$41,000 - $58,000 a year depending on qualifications and experience.
