- The Breast Clinic Nurse will be responsible for : completing regular biopsychosocial assessments and care plans with patients;
- communicating and collaborating with multidisciplinary disease teams to ensure coordination of care for patients; providing education to patients / families regarding treatment plans, medications, advance directives, appointments and so forth;
- developing collaborative relationships with multidisciplinary team members and referring patients / families to other members of the care team as appropriate;
documentation in accordance with program standards; participating in evaluation of program outcomes.This position will assist with chemotherapy patient teaching and coordination of services related to breast cancer diagnosis and treatment planning according to UCSD policies and procedures.
While not required, a cover letter is highly recommended when applying to this position.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS* Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
- RN License issued by the State of California.* BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
- A minimum of two (2) years of recent (within the last 1 year) oncology RN experience.* ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy certification with recent experience (in the last (6) six months).
- Strong critical thinking, organization, and problem-solving skills to manage multiple levels of information and responsibilities to assess moderately complex problems and develop potential solutions quickly.
- Must have excellent skills to communicate and influence effectively with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, and external constituents, both verbally and in writing.
- Must possess proficient computer skills, including electronic medical records and Microsoft Office.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS* BSN / MSN.
- OCN or CBCN certification.* ACLS and / or ART.* Chemotherapy certification.SPECIAL CONDITIONS* Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
