Job Description
The Staff Development Coordinator provides, plans, coordinates, and manages orientation and in-service education for facility employees.
The coordinator also takes on the role of the Infection Prevention / Control Coordinator and is responsible for designing systems and approving actions to prevent / control and monitor reports of infections and / or potential infections among residents and staff.
Responsibilities
- Assess learning needs and design in-service and continuing ed programs based on quality assurance data to meet needs and regulatory guidelines
- Develop, implement, communicate, and evaluate annual training plan
- Develop specific teaching plans and programs to cover training needs for all roles on a regular basis
- Work with the Director of Nursing to ensure quality care is held to the highest standard and all facility policies and procedures are carried out by every staff member
- On call
Qualifications
- Must hold current unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Colorado
- Experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing preferred but not required. Background / training in infection control is preferred
- Current CPR certificate desired
