Location : South Carolina, Remote
Job Type : Fulltime, Next School Year Contract
Pay : $46 / Hour
As a Virtual School Psychologist, you will provide vital mental health and educational support services to students in South Carolina.
This position offers the unique opportunity to work remotely while making a meaningful impact on the lives of students.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct virtual psychological assessments to evaluate students' cognitive, academic, emotional, and behavioral functioning.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and intervention plans for students with special needs.
- Provide virtual counseling and therapeutic interventions to address students' social, emotional, and behavioral concerns.
- Offer virtual crisis intervention and support services to students experiencing emotional distress or behavioral crises.
- Participate in virtual multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss students' progress, challenges, and intervention strategies.
- Offer virtual consultation and support to teachers and staff regarding students' behavioral management, classroom accommodations, and mental health needs.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, interventions, and communications with students, parents, and staff.
- Stay current on relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in the field of school psychology and virtual service delivery.
- Collaborate with community mental health agencies, social services, and other external resources to support students' mental health and well-being.
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in virtual service delivery, cultural competence, and evidence-based practices.
Qualifications :
- Master's or doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Valid certification or licensure as a School Psychologist in South Carolina.
- Experience working as a School Psychologist in a K-12 educational setting preferred.
- Proficiency in virtual assessment tools, teletherapy platforms, and other technology necessary for remote service delivery.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, educators, and other stakeholders.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to supporting the academic, social, and emotional needs of students.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a virtual team in a remote work environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, caseloads, and service delivery models.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing special education services and student confidentiality (e.g., IDEA, FERPA).
- Cultural competence and the ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and families.
