As a Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing diesel engines in various vehicles and equipment.
This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of diesel-powered machinery.
Responsibilities :
- Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues with diesel engines.
- Conduct thorough inspections to determine the extent of necessary repairs.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
- Execute repairs on engine components, electrical systems, and other related parts.
- Overhaul engines when necessary, including disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly.
- Diagnose and repair electronic systems integrated into diesel engines.
- Work with engine control modules (ECMs) and other electronic components.
- Maintain detailed records of all work performed, including parts used, procedures followed, and diagnostic findings.
- Interact with vehicle owners or fleet managers to discuss vehicle issues, explain necessary repairs, and provide cost
- Ensure excellent customer service and satisfaction.
- Adhere to safety standards and protocols when working with heavy machinery, tools, and hazardous materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Stay updated on advancements in diesel engine technology through ongoing training and professional development.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a formal diesel technician training program.
- Practical experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance.
- Familiarity with various makes and models of diesel engines.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
