Technical Product Owner
6 Month Contract in Phoenix, AZ (LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY!)
Requires candidates to be onsite 1x per week
Pay up to $60 / hr. W2.
Requirements
- Specifically focused on Instacart upgrade, owning some of the analytics, web + mobile, and CMS(Content Management System).
- Should come from a eCommerce background, preferably worked with Instacart / Doordash,
- Technical proficiency - should have good technical knowledge and ability to act as a liaison between dev team and the customer
- This person needs to ability to be patient as they enter a more ready state and understand the change management process (for example, most stakeholders don't know the difference between a Product Manager and Product Owner, things may move slow, people need to be educated on how Scrum works)
Summary Description
The Product Owner is crucial throughout the lifecycle of a product, responsible for defining user requirements, translating them into technical tasks, overseeing tactical product delivery for both small and large projects, and validating outcomes before business owner acceptance testing.
The Product Owner deeply understands system functionality, user interactions, and data integrations. Additionally, they will perform typical Product Owner duties related to QA, such as user acceptance testing (UAT), and collaborate closely with QA to develop new processes and automate testing.
Essential Functions
- Lead and facilitate requirements gathering sessions with business & technical stakeholders, including Engineering, Data, Design, Marketing, and Legal teams.
- Translate requirements into use cases and technical tasks.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors, such as Instacart and other partners, to define and document requirements, implement new features, test in lower environments, and support releases.
- Act as a trusted partner and subject matter expert for digital properties, including websites, mobile apps, catering sites, and internal digital assets.
- Partner with Solution Architecture to design solutions and validate requirements.
- Create visual representations of systems, both current and desired states.
- Develop functional user flows, how-to articles, and enhance the knowledgebase.
- Perform user acceptance testing (UAT) and other typical Product Owner QA-related tasks.
- Collaborate closely with QA to help develop new QA processes and automate testing.
- Collaborate with the product team on the design and development of new features.
- Create and maintain documentation and tutorials.
- Manage and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring it is visible, transparent, and clearly communicated.
- Use data-driven approaches to inform decision-making and prioritize features.
- Ensure customer needs and expectations are met through effective product design and implementation.
- Understand and ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 3+ years of experience with eCommerce websites and marketplace mobile applications.
- Technical proficiency with a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and technical tasks.
- Previous experience in software development preferred.
- Experience with formal software lifecycle development methodologies.
- Strong requirements gathering, documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in retail environments preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and writing skills adaptable to dynamic environments.
- Ability to prioritize and work with time constraints while paying attention to detail.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve issues independently and promptly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio and Project.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Lucid Chart, and Microsoft SharePoint.
- Strong understanding of change management within established companies.
- Preference for candidates proficient in SQL and / or integrations.
- Knowledge of eCommerce platforms (Instacart preferred)
- Familiarity with data analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Google Tags Manager, PowerBI, etc.
