We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer - with a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or related Engineering field.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining a secure and scalable development and program operations platform that serves the needs of multidisciplinary engineers for an Air Force program.

Other responsibilities include ensuring the environment and the tools within it are optimized for performance, accessibility, reliability, and security.

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in software engineering, cloud infrastructure, DevOps practices and tools, and security principles.

You should also be proactive, concise, and effective communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Must-haves :

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Software Engineering, Systems Security, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or related engineering discipline with typically 10 or more years of relevant experienceHigher education may substitute for relevant experienceRelevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
  • 5+ years in Azure or AWS
  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principle and practices
  • Experience in deploying applications in a production environment
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, including continuous integration and deployment, automation, and monitoring
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and security best practices, including experience with cloud providers such as AWS or Azure
  • Understanding of security principles and protocols, including authentication, authorization, encryption, and vulnerability management
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm
  • Strong scripting and automation skills, with experience using scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address potential vulnerabilities and threats
  • Experience implementing and maintaining compliance controls
  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows Server virtualized administration and deployment
  • An active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance is required

Preferred :

  • CertificationISM CAP, CISSP, or CISM CertificationISSE CAP, CISSP-ISSEP CertificationISSO Security+, CISA, or CASP+ CertificationMCSE or Linux Security Certification
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
  • Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP / IP, DNS, and SSL / TLS
  • Familiarity with log management and analysis tools
  • Experience with security testing tools
  • Understanding of software development best practices, including code review, testing, and version control
  • Knowledge of database technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB
  • Understanding of containerized application architectures
  • Experience with agile development methodologies, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience working with Jira and Confluence

Estimated Starting Salary Range : $138,634.92 - $190,623.01. SNC considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, and education / training / certifications.

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.

SNC offers a generous benefit package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, 401(k) with 150% match up to 6%, life insurance, 3 weeks paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and .
