JOB SUMMARY

The Guest Room Inspector ensures that guest rooms, meeting rooms, public areas, spa area, fitness suite, pool area, and retail areas are clean, orderly and well maintained. Trains Guest Room Attendants. Also responsible for maintaining inventories of the mini bars, cleaning supplies and all housekeeping products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for conducting frequent inspections of guestrooms and hallways in order to maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
  • Teaches guidelines in cleaning all upholstery, draperies, carpet, wood, granite, and marble surfaces on flooring, furniture and walls.
  • Responsible to insuring compliance with all applicable OSHA rules and other workplace policies and procedures.
  • Maintains up to date knowledge on industry standards in chemical controls, cleaning equipment, and OSHA safety rules.
  • Establishes, maintains, stock, and monitors inventory system for cleaning supplies, amenities, product, linen and linen rooms on each floor.
  • Communicates with Maintenance on all repairs, minor or large.
  • Oversees stocking of housekeeping carts and instructs staff on how to operate all machinery in laundry areas.
  • Inspects all guest rooms prior to guest arrivals. Provides detailed monthly room inspections and evaluates physical condition of hotel with the Housekeeping Supervisor.
  • Ensures proper setup and breakdown of meeting rooms.
  • Constantly seek ways to improve quality.
  • Seeks out ways to enhance the quality of service rendered in meeting guest needs and guest relations.
  • Meets or exceeds customer expectations, ensuring staff delivers a high level of performance that will translate into high guest satisfaction.
  • Provides accurate directions and information for guest inquiries and is knowledgeable about all aspects of the Blue Lake Casino & Hotel services, features, attractions, promotions and special events.
  • Position will be required to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, holidays and weekends.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

    High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum two years experience in hotel industry. Must have working knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations on chemical use. Knowledge of inventories and ability to train employees to perform effectively.

    While employed, must maintain a valid and active Blue Lake Tribal Gaming Commission License.
