Our client is a leading provider of automation solutions for clients in the food / bev, chemical, pharma, water / wastewater, printing, packaging, and CNC machining industries.
They specialize in designing and implementing custom control systems tailored to meet their clients' specific needs. As they continue to expand their operations, they are seeking a talented Senior Automation Engineer to join their team and contribute to their ongoing success.
What a Senior Automation Engineer Does :
Play a critical role in the design, implementation, and support of industrial control systems. You will work closely with clients to understand their requirements and develop innovative solutions using state-of-the-art automation technology.
Day to Day
- Specifying automation and electrical components and software to meet customer specifications, application requirements, and industrial standards.
- Designing and configuring PLC programs to optimize performance or resolve complex controls issues.
- Supporting commissioning and startup of control systems, with the ability to identify and resolve electrical, mechanical, and software issues.
- Providing on-site and remote support for installed systems, including technical service assistance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Determining the root cause of electrical, mechanical, and software failures and implementing solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Organizing and maintaining project files to ensure accurate documentation and efficient project management.
- Working collaboratively with project managers and the engineering manager to schedule and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Leading and training other automation engineers to foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications to be Successful
- 5+ years of experience in the design and implementation of industrial control systems or control panels, with a strong background in PLC programming.
- AS / BS in Engineering or Engineering Technology or demonstrated experience in the industry.
- Experience preferred in one or more of the following automation platforms : Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, GE, Omron, Automation Direct, Emerson DeltaV, Honeywell Experion, ABB 800xA, FactoryTalk View, WinCC, Tatsoft, Ignition, iFix, Wonderware, as well as AC drives, DC drives, motion control, robotics, machine vision, and functional safety.
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
