A school in Mesa, AZ is seeking a caring and dedicated Full-Time Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) specializing in early childhood to join our team.
As an SLPA, you will play a crucial role in fostering the speech and language development of young children, working closely with educators, parents, and other professionals.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct speech and language screenings under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
- Implement therapeutic activities and interventions based on treatment plans developed by the SLP.
- Work one-on-one or in small groups with children to improve communication skills.
- Assist in preparing materials and resources for therapy sessions.
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records as required by regulations.
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to support speech and language goals in classroom and home environments.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of individualized education plans (IEPs) and intervention strategies.
Requirements :
- Associate's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or related field.
- Arizona state licensure or eligibility as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA).
- Experience working with young children, particularly in early childhood or educational settings.
- Knowledge of speech and language disorders and therapy techniques.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members and families.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
