Project Manager
Tasks :
A. Prepare Project Management Plans (PMP)
- Must cover a detailed scope of services, including elements such as staffing, governance, risk, communication, and change management.
- Submit plans to the Department’s Contract Manager for approval.
B. Review and Update PMP
Ensure regular review and submission of changes to the Contract Manager. Follow an established change management process.
C. Legislative and Operational Documentation
Prepare key project documentation such as Legislative Budget Requests (LBR), Statements of Work (SOW), and Operational Work Plans (OWP).
D. Schedule Management
Develop and submit a detailed MS Project (or equivalent) schedule, accounting for project team availability and clear task management.
E. Monitor and Update Schedule
Regularly review the project schedule and provide updates or risks to the Contract Manager.
Minimum Qualifications for the Candidate :
- Strong communication skills.
- PMP certification is required.
- 10+ years of IT industry experience .
- 7+ years of project management experience .
- Experience with Agile methodologies .
- 5+ years managing projects according to PMI / PMBOK standards .
- 3+ years developing program / project strategy .
- 3+ years managing large, cross-functional software projects .
Preferred Experience :
- Familiarity with Florida PALM project and FLAIR data .
- Experience in managing projects that involve multiple legacy systems .
- Competency in handling Agile Methodologies , JAD sessions , and LBR / SOW / OWP .
- Experience working with State Purchasing and Information Technology processes in Florida.
Educational Qualifications :
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or relevant IT work experience (5 years minimum).
