A Day in the Life of a Facilities Construction Manager
Coordinates multiple construction projects with Cheyenne Regional operations and contractors, engineering and design teams, suppliers, vendors, and inspectors. Accountable for the day-to-day construction coordination for Cheyenne Regional facilities, including ensuring contractors have access and required information of existing building systems, as well as ensuring they are following regulatory compliance for healthcare construction. Monitors construction progress and coordinates with facilities and affected hospital departments to ensure disruption is effectively communicated, appropriately planned. Works under the direction of the Administrator of Facilities and coordinates with the Manager of Facilities and the Project Management Office.

Here is What You Will Be Doing :
Manage construction of remodel projects for Cheyenne Regional Facilities in concurrence with the Project Management Office and the Facilities Department. This entails coordinating and communicating site activities with facility operations, and ensuring that all Cheyenne Regional project stakeholders are in phase with current construction activitiesOversee and provide facility information to contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to help coordinate ongoing construction activities. This includes researching existing facility drawings, verification of existing conditions and building systems, walking site locations with contractors and vendors, and working through processes and coordination for construction related utility shutdowns.Fulfills responsibility for communication related to construction to facilities staff and leadership, Project management office, Safety officer, and periodic construction updates to all Cheyenne Regional staff.Ensure Cheyenne Regional facilities are maintained in good condition during construction and contractors are meeting quality and safety standards. Ensure contractor adheres to legal responsibilities as they relate to hospital liability and operation by conducting and documenting quality assurance and safety inspections, and ensuring project continually meets hospital regulations for constructionLiaise between Cheyenne Regional project stakeholders, engineers, architects, and others working on the project to help understand facility access, existing conditions and building systems, and operational disruption during constructionIdentify, mitigate, and track recurring construction and existing building issues related to constructionAttend coordination and progress meetings; make daily visits to sites during construction; attend bid walks, preconstruction walks, in-progress site visits, punch walks, and construction closeoutReview, maintain and communicate construction documents, and monitor contract obligations with a goal of building and maintaining relationships with reliable contractors and vendorsRespond to construction questions, emergencies, and other project disruptions related to hospital facilitiesAssist in ensuring new equipment is uploaded into the asset tracking system and manufacture recommendations for maintenance are including in maintenance schedule.Desired Skills :
Knowledge of construction methods and technologies, and ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contractsKnowledge of building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systemsKnowledge of building code requirements and scheduling methodsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a constant eye on qualityKnowledge of jobsite safety practices requiredAbility to plan and see the “big picture” for Cheyenne Regional facilities construction projectsEffective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsHere is What You Need :
Education (must meet all of one of the following) :Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering, construction management, HVAC or related field
Associate's degree or higher in construction management, engineering, HVAC, or related field and two (2) or more years of job-related experienceFive (5) or more years of facilities engineering experience including construction experienceThree (3) or more years of mechanical equipment construction project management experienceValid USA driver’s licenseMust have clean driving record that follows Cheyenne Regional Medical Center’s driving guidelinesNice to Have :
