Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection practices. Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings. Attention to detail with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and in a team environment. Open to candidates with equivalent work experience in place of formal education. Job Overview
Jeffrey Davis Portable Welding Fabrication LLC is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Structural Steel Detailer to produce accurate and professional shop drawings for structural steel projects. This full-time hybrid role is perfect for someone with strong AutoCAD experience, a background in structural steel design, and the ability to collaborate with both office and field teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed shop drawings for structural steel buildings using AutoCAD.
- Interpret architectural and structural plans to produce accurate fabrication and erection drawings.
- Collaborate with project managers, fabricators, and welders to ensure design accuracy.
- Revise drawings based on field changes, RFIs, and feedback from contractors.
- Maintain design files and documentation for ongoing and completed projects.
- Ensure all drawings meet project specifications, industry standards, and safety requirements.
- Assist with estimating or material takeoffs when needed.
- Support continuous improvement in design processes and technologies.
