Overview : The Director of Facilities leads a diverse maintenance team to ensure the safe, efficient, and economical installation, maintenance, and repair of Blue Grass Airport facilities, equipment, and grounds.

This position fosters a cohesive department that leverages diverse skills to achieve common goals.

Key Responsibilities :

• Oversee the reliable operation of utilities and infrastructure across the airport's 1,100-acre campus.
• Direct maintenance and repair of structures, equipment, and grounds, including snow removal and custodial services.
• Supervise maintenance staff, ensuring facilities meet safety and compliance standards.
• Manage inspections and repairs of electrical, mechanical, plumbing systems, and various airport equipment.
• Collaborate with other departments to develop policies, project plans, and business strategies.
• Ensure all major decisions consider staffing, life cycle costs, safety, and compliance.
• Handle emergencies and inclement weather situations, including snow removal operations.
• Manage contracts and oversee outside contractors for maintenance agreements.
• Assist in preparing and administering budgets and strategic plans.

Qualifications :

• High School diploma (bachelor's degree in a related field preferred).
• 8+ years of facilities maintenance experience; airport maintenance experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and budget development.
• Strong skills in interpreting plans and specifications.
• Ability to build professional relationships and effectively communicate needs.
• Excellent organizational and stress management skills.

Working Conditions :

• Full-time position requiring regular on-site attendance.
• Exposure to noise, chemicals, and extreme weather conditions.
• Must work during emergencies and inclement weather, with long shifts as needed.

Physical Requirements :

• Medium work classification : ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must have good auditory and visual acuity for communication and safety.
• Ability to traverse uneven terrain and operate vehicles for extended periods.

Special Requirements :

• Valid driver's license and ability to pass background checks.
• Must complete airport security and driver training.
• Maintain a smartphone with data capabilities per company policy.

Travel Requirements :

Limited travel (up to 5%) primarily for local meetings and training.
