Description

Evans is hiring for a Technical Writer with strategic and technical communications experience to join their growing team on one of their contracts in Washington DC.

This position will be critical to Evans’ and the client’s success by supporting client communications and outreach efforts.

The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator who possesses strong writing and editing capabilities while thriving in a fast-paced environment working both independently and collaboratively.

Location Details : This role is hybrid with approximately 2 days / week on-site at the FAA headquarters in Washington D.C.

  • Develop professional communication products including briefings, talking points, hot sheets, white papers and status reports or other required documentation.
  • Deliver clear and precise written products for internal and external requests.
  • Communicate with executive level leaders and stakeholders to support correspondence and outreach efforts.
  • Produce high quality deliverables and develop engaging, clear, and consistent content that aligns with organizational messages and priorities.
  • Act as a lead reviewer and editor of content before presenting to stakeholders and executive leaders.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams and stakeholders across various business units.
  • Provide support as needed through various forms of correspondence, when directed by the client.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 5 years of experience or Associate’s Degree and at least 10 years of experience.
  • Experience developing key messages with the ability to translate complex technical language into plain language and / or engaging visuals.
  • Experience improving quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of client communications and outreach.
  • Ability to listen to clients’ challenges and proactively help them solve problems and follow through on actions.
  • Strong formal written communications, including creation of technical writing, editing, staff features, briefings.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to support multiple activities and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in teams with minimum supervision.
  • Demonstrated efficiency with MS Office Suite and SharePoint to maintain library of reusable communication products and artifacts.

Compensation

Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.

The projected compensation range for this position is $90,000 to $120,000 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Evans’s total compensation package for employees.
