Job Description :
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Mechanical Construction Project Manager to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical aspects of commercial ground-up construction projects, including HVAC, plumbing, piping, and other mechanical systems.
The Project Manager will work closely with general contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee and manage the mechanical scope of commercial ground-up construction projects from planning through completion.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to develop project timelines and mechanical system designs.
- Manage the procurement of materials, labor, and subcontractors for HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical systems.
- Monitor project progress, ensuring compliance with specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders regarding project status, budget, and risks.
- Lead the project team in troubleshooting and resolving issues that arise during construction.
- Ensure that mechanical systems are tested and commissioned according to industry standards and client expectations.
- Foster relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
- Maintain up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
- Track project costs and manage the financial performance of assigned projects, ensuring profitability.
- Ensure all safety regulations are followed on-site, and that mechanical systems meet applicable codes and standards.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Project Manager in commercial construction, specifically with ground-up projects.
- Proven track record in managing mechanical scopes (HVAC, plumbing, piping) on complex commercial construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and mechanical systems.
- Proficient in construction management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with LEED and sustainable building practices is a plus.
- PMP certification or equivalent is desirable but not required.
