Sawgrass Pediatric Partners is seeking caring, detail-oriented Pediatric Medical Assistants for either our Coral Springs, Parkland or Boca Raton locations.

This position offers a full time schedule which includes day, evening and rotating at least one per month Saturday or Sunday shifts.

Administrative responsibilities include greeting patients as they arrive, answering phone calls and emails, scheduling appointments.

Clinical duties include taking patient medical histories, recording patient vital signs, preparing patients for examination, administer vaccinations and processing ordered prescriptions. Phlebotomy.

Responsibilities :

• Maintain high quality patient care by providing a safe patient environment, adherence to infection control policy and procedures and maintaining upmost exam room cleanliness.
• Experienced in Phone Triage advice / appointment setting, ECW EHR system a plus!
• Excellent listening skills
• Perform and document patient’s intake vitals to include but limited to height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rate;

repeat and notify clinician of any abnormal findings

• Interview patient based on age appropriateness and / or specialty needs with accurate documentation to include chief complaint, current medications, food allergies, vaccine, medical, surgical, family, and social histories.
• Prepare patient for clinician examination, ensure clinician orders performed and accurately documented.
• Perform and document vaccine and medication reconciliation with patient and state registry; provide written vaccine information statements, education of patients / parents prior to vaccine and medication administration.
• Complete patients follow up and tasks assigned to meet patient needs to include but not limited to answering phones, handling correspondence, prescription refill request providing clinician with necessary information as needed, obtaining medication preauthorization.
• Perform phlebotomy, lab sample collection and proper processing with documentation is a plus.

Medical Assistant Requirements and Qualifications

• Medical Assistant Certificate required
• 1+ years of experience working for a healthcare practice ( Pediatric preferred )
• Familiar with medical terminology
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
