Responsibilities :

Draft and prosecute high-quality U.S. patent applications

Respond to office actions before the USPTO

Conduct prior art, patentability, and freedom-to-operate analyses

Collaborate directly with inventors, scientists, and cross-office teams

Contribute to a supportive team environment focused on attorney growth and client service

Compensation :

The anticipated base salary range is $210,000–$275,000 , depending on qualifications, skills, and experience.

Requirements

Ph.D. in a biology-related field (molecular / cellular biology, genetics, immunology, or related)

Admission to the USPTO

State Bar admission (IL preferred)

4–6 years of top law firm patent prosecution experience in a broad range of biology applications

Superior academic credentials and outstanding writing skills required
