Outpatient Therapist

The Children’s Home of Reading Youth & Family Services is seeking Therapist at our Ravenhill Pyshcological Services program.

The incumbent will meet with clients to facilitate group and individual treatment sessions to develop and execute a treatment plan that emphasizes prevention of delinquent / criminal behaviors and community safety.

This role will help clients deal with delinquent / criminal behaviors, deviant sexual arousal, substance abuse, family problems, depression, suicide ideations, stress management, problems with self-esteem, gang involvement, and peer interaction / social skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB AND ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS

• Assisting clients in challenging distorted cognitive beliefs.
• Guiding clients in the development of skills and strategies for dealing with their problems.
• Developing and implementing treatment plan.
• Collaborating with other staff members to perform clinical assessment and develop treatment plans.
• Preparing and maintaining all required treatment records and reports.
• Facilitating group and individual treatment sessions.
• Facilitating family therapy sessions when deemed appropriate by members of the Treatment Team.
• Working with probation officers, caseworkers, and other relevant interested parties in order to exchange necessary information during the treatment process.
• Ability to work evening hours that may be essential in meeting clients scheduling needs.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :

Required : Master’s Degree in social work, psychology, guidance and counseling, education, criminal justice, nursing, or a related or a related human services field discipline.
