To accomplish this, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Staffing Coordinator / CNA to join our team and make a positive impact.
We are seeking a dedicated caregiver that will use their energy, creativity, thoughtfulness, and skills to help our residents live a life full of purpose, celebration and fulfillment through connecting with them each day.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Consult with nursing department staff and supervisors concerning the staffing / scheduling needs to assist in eliminating / correcting problem areas and / or improving services.
- Coordinate appropriate coverage for call-outs for each scheduled shift in a timely fashion and alert the nursing supervisor regarding vacant slots which have not been filled for upcoming shifts.
- Designate a licensed nurse to serve as a Charge Nurse / Nurse Supervisor on each shift except under waiver.
- Determine a level of sufficient staff based on diseases, conditions, physical function or cognitive limitations of the resident population.
- Develop a workforce strategy which provides for sufficient numbers of licensed nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to meet the individualized needs of residents and to comply with state staffing requirements.
- Ensure the facility has sufficient staff with the appropriate competencies and skill sets to provide nursing and related services to assure resident safety.
- Ensure the schedule considers the number, acuity and diagnoses of the facility resident population in accordance with the facility assessment.
- Ensure the workload or assignments of the nursing staff allow for time to participate in team meetings, care plan meetings, attend training, spend time caring for residents and time for breaks (including meal breaks).
- Complete and post work sheets / time schedules.
- Complete monthly nursing schedule coordinating requests to ensure appropriate coverage of units.
- May be required to pick up shifts working the floor as a CNA.
- Will work closely with the Director of Human Resources.
- Additional duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Current CNA Certification in the state of Texas.
- A minimum of one (1) year nursing experience in a long-term care nursing home setting is preferred.
- Must be able to speak the English language in an understandable manner.
- One (1) year experience with schedule management.
