Senior Trading Developer, C#
Apollo Solutions have partnered with a leading asset management firm based in Boston who are searching for a Senior Developer to focus on the development, enhancement, and support of proprietary strategic applications for the Trading and Compliance teams.
This includes gathering requirements, achieving consensus, developing software, integrating vendor products, and managing transitions.
The role involves working with vendor APIs, structured programming, task management, unit and integration testing, and delivery reporting.
Embedded within a team of end users, the developer will build and maintain tools to manage the implementation of the firm’s investment strategies.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced investment environment, collaborating directly with business users to create and improve tools.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and support strategic proprietary tools as a primary responsibility
- Facilitate integration testing of third-party tools and data as needed
- Provide tactical support for business-related services as a secondary responsibility
- Oversee the daily morning production process to ensure a trade-ready state at the start of the day
- Apply a formal development approach to the critical production environment.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft-based technologies, with strong experience in SQL, C#, and WPF
- A minimum of 7 years of application development experience is strongly preferred
- Experience with Git or other source code control systems is required
- 5+ years of experience in investment management is preferred
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies is preferred
- Strong business analysis capabilities with excellent development and database skills
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work well in team environments
