The Hypersonics Advanced Programs team is looking for a Systems Engineer to lead our on the Razor team for a research and development project. In this role, you will report to the Systems Engineering Manager. This role is intended to primarily support execution of milestone reviews and risk and opportunity management; however, tasking may vary to support other priorities of the Systems Engineering team. Your responsibilities may include :

  • Support planning and execution of the System Preliminary Design Review and Critical Design Review program level efforts across teams and business areas
  • Support coordination and execution of lower-level design reviews or TIMs for the Systems Engineering team
  • Coordinate and track Design Review Objective Evidence
  • Evaluate Design Review Entrance Criteria
  • Develop and coordinate presentation materials across the program
  • Provide briefings to senior and executive leadership
  • Support Risk and Opportunity Management Board, and develop effective mitigation strategies to ensure program success
  • Develop Basis of Estimates and support future proposal activities
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers in Systems Engineering
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines across a small, hypersonic fast-paced, dynamic program; adapting to the rapidly changing environment of a development program on a challenging schedule
  • Use your excellent communication skills and self-motivating drive to work across Lockheed Martin business areas to progress towards a common goal
  • Promote a positive teamwork culture within a small, diverse team spread across multiple sites
  • Occasional travel to other LM sites within the USA may be required (approximately 1-4 trips per year)

Basic Qualifications :

  • Experience as a Systems Engineer
  • Experience executing or briefing in formal milestone reviews
  • Experience planning or executing program risk mitigation strategies
  • Active or Current DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Desired Skills :

  • Accredited Bachelor's degree in an engineering field
  • Experience planning and executing milestone reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TIM, etc.) for a government customer and subcontractor
  • Adept at running Risk and Opportunity Management Board and developing risk mitigation plans
  • Adept in MS Excel
  • Proficient with Jira and Confluence
  • Proficient with DOORS
  • Experience developing requirements specifications
  • Experience assessing compliance and verifying requirements through test and analysis
  • Experience defining system interfaces
  • Experience integrating missile systems into a flight test event
  • Proficient in Python
  • Familiar with LM Space command media
  • Familiar with maintaining an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)
  • Security Clearance Statement : This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

    Clearance Level : Secret

    Ability to Work Remotely : Onsite Full-time : The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

    Work Schedules : Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

    Schedule for this Position : 9x80 every other Friday off

    Pay Rate : The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington, or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education / training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

    Benefits offered : Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees : accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.

    The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $120,100 - $208,150. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
