IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Structural Design Engineer in either our Houston or Dallas, TX office.
A Structural Design Engineer will work closely with a team of experienced engineers and consultants to provide engineering solutions and advice to clients to ensure positive outcomes.
Primary responsibilities will include assisting in engineering analysis, design, and development of documents for structural systems.
Some key duties and responsibilities include :
- Assist in the design and analysis of structural systems using a variety of building materials;
- Interact with clients to understand their needs and gather project requirements;
- Work as part of a project team to support the execution of consulting projects;
- Assist with documenting design decisions and monitoring project design progress;
- Analyze low to medium complexity engineering tasks and propose innovative solutions;
- Participate in IMEG quality control processes to ensure that engineering designs meet standards;
- Stay up to date with industry trends and contribute to research and innovation efforts;
- Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work;
- Engage in the full life cycle of projects from conception through construction.
Key skills and abilities needed for the position are :
- Knowledge of design techniques and standards for structural systems;
- Strong technical and analytical skills related to structural mechanics;
- Knowledge of industry standard engineering software and tools;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment;
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills;
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges;
- Basic knowledge in the use of BIM software;
- Proficient with MS Office Suite;
- Ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays.
Education and experience requirements are :
- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering required;
- Master's Degree (MS) in Structural Engineering preferred;
- Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred;
- Engineering in Training (EIT) License preferred.
