ROLE of the POSITION
This position is to perform research for a project funded by the Department of Energy for the ARPA-E ROSIE program to decarbonize ironmaking.
The primary job duty is to complete project milestones, which may include research tasks involving prototype design and fabrication, material characterization, electrochemistry, experimentation, simulation, and data analysis.
In addition, the job will involve cooperating with other team members, setting research timelines and schedules, budgeting research expenditures, and organizing meetings.

build a community for all UNLV postdocs; and provide professional development programs and networking events for postdocs.
UNLV currently employs postdoctoral scholars across a wide range of disciplines.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a PhD from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and / or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
Applicants must have experience in design and fabrication, and performing experiments to measure performance or characterize materials.

Experience in performing electrochemical experiments, computer simulation of fluid flows with heat and mass transfer, life cycle analysis, technoeconomic analysis, and / or entrepreneurship is preferred.
SALARY RANGE
Salary range is $42,800 - $75,000, or commensurate with labor market and appointing authority’s availability of funds. Position is contingent upon funding.
