The main office for DBHDD is located in downtown Atlanta.
This position is located at : Georgia Regional Hospital Atlanta (GRHA)
Located on 174 Acres in DeKalb County, Georgia Regional Hospital in Atlanta operates 300 licensed, accredited inpatient beds in three major program areas : Adult Mental Health, Forensic Services, and Developmental Disabilities.
In addition, GRH / Atlanta also offers inpatient and outpatient Dental Services.

Job Title : Internal Medicine Physician - Board Eligible or Board Certified Admissions - Full Time GRHA
Job Type : Full-time
Salary : $180, - $199, per year
Job Summary :
Under general supervision, provides comprehensive medical services by examining patients, diagnosing conditions and providing treatments.
Directs nurses, aides and others in the care and treatment of patients.
- May supervise staff
- Refers patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary
- Advises patients on health care including health promotion, disease, illness and accident prevention
- Coordinates work with nurses, social workers, rehabilitation therapists, pharmacists, psychologists and other health care providers
- Directs and coordinates activities of nurses, students, assistants, specialists, therapists, and other medical staff
- Examines patients and take their histories, order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures and consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients’ physical and mental health
- Prescribes or administers treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury
- Provides emergency medical care
Qualifications
Medical degree recognized by the Georgia Composite Medical Board (GCMB) AND licensure or license-eligible to practice medicine at a state institution or in the state of Georgia as provided by state law.
Physician must be Board Eligible.

Preferred qualifications
- Certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Experience in treating persons with serious and persistent medical illnesses, and in providing care as leader and member of an interdisciplinary treatment team
- Experience working with consumers in adult mental health, addictive disease, and forensic psychiatry
