POSITION DESCRIPTION : Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing new and existing product lines, while also providing product application support to both internal and external stakeholders.
This is a high visibility role that will work closely with the Engineering, Quality, Sales, Operations, Product Management and Supply Chain teams to collaborate on product expansion initiatives and contribute to the technical product line education for all internal partners.
The ideal candidate will be diligent about staying updated with industry trends, best practices and emerging technologies to continuously enhance their skills and knowledge, while contributing to Solve’s continued growth and success.
RESPONSIBILITIES : Collaborate with Drafters and Engineering partners for product specification and design verification to ensure optimal functionality and accurate representation of models and drawings through prototyping and functional testing Prepare engineered solution documents and presentations, including engineering drawings, CAD models, project proposals and product literature Provide technical product application support, including product selection, installation and maintenance expertise to both internal and external stakeholders Conduct root cause failure analysis with validated recommendation on corrective actions Effectively communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, including customers and cross-functional teams Communicate with suppliers to help design, ensure manufacturability, confirm product specifications, check drawings check drawings, quality and maintain cost effective production and verify quality standards Assist with quoting special projects and modifications to standard products and provide technical product expertise, calculations, and support to customers and the sales team Reverse engineering of products QUALIFICATIONS : Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or Associate’s Degree in Industrial Engineering Technology 3+ years of Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering experience Strong problem-solving skills Strong understanding of torque transmission / transfer mechanisms Proficiency in 2D drawing software (AutoCAD / Draftsight / SolidWorks), and 3D modeling software (Preferably SolidWorks) Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) implementation experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : Experience in the bearings and power transmission field Experience with Driveworks OUR EMPLOYEE VALUE PROPOSITION : Market competitive benefits package, including company-sponsored health coverage, life insurance, 401(k) plan with company match, paid parental leave and paid time off Work in a collaborative environment with passionate and innovative teammates Solve is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination or harassment of any kind.
