And Much More!Key Responsibilities : Prepares histologic slides from tissue sections for microscopic examination by Pathologist.
Process and embed specimensPerform routine H&E, IHC and special stains.Perform and assist with intraoperative consultsOperates and maintains computerized laboratory equipment.
Microscopic evaluation of slides to ensure tissue preparation meets laboratory requirements and controls worked accordingly.
Stay informed of changes in MVHS policies and procedures relevant to your role.Engage in continuous learning to maintain required continuing education hours.
What We're Looking For : Education : Post-high school course in histotechnology or a two-year degree in a related biological science.
Experience : Six to twelve months of experience in histotechnology preferred, but we welcome eager learners ready to grow.
Certification : NYS Histological Technician Certification, NYS Histotechnologist Certification, or NYS Clinical Laboratory Technician Certification required.
