POSITION :

The Office of Nonpublic and Charter Schools (ONPS) is hiring for per session activity that will enable ONPS to complete required work for the Substantial Equivalency reviews that must be completed by June 2025.

Due to growing volume and capacity factors, this per-session activity will require approximately 5-10 individuals to address the specific tasks.

LOCATION :

Activity will run in-person with locations TBD; training sessions may run asynchronously.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS :

NYCDOE Education Administrator L4

SELECTION CRITERIA :

Candidates preferred who are currently members of the Office of Nonpublic and Charter Schools and prior experience working on Substantial Equivalency.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Completes school visits and observations.
  • Reviews, analyzes and prepares case files for documentation for schools under investigation / review.
  • Analyzes data and documentation to support the work of the Substantial Equivalency team.
  • Drafts case notes required to complete the Substantial Equivalency evaluations, analysis, and reviews.
  • Attends and participates in training sessions.

WORK SCHEDULE :

Date range for activity : October 2024 to June 30th, 2025, with the activity ending as soon as the cases are complete. Budget is allocated for approximate coverage of up to 10 hours per week per staff worker.

Work hours to be determined by the hiring manager.

Hours up to, but not limited to the approximate number of hours listed. Additional hours may be granted upon the approval of the hiring manager.

SALARY :

Per Session rates as per the relevant union / organization of the advertised title (Collective Bargaining Agreement). Contingent upon funding availability and programmatic approval.
