DESCRIPTION
The Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science at the University of California, San Diego. The goals of the institute include : 1) Creating and promoting public health innovations to advance equity, justice, and wellbeing for all,2) Cultivating new generations of diverse public health professionals, 3) Advancing scientific discovery, dissemination, and implementation, 4) Collaborating with diverse partners to develop community-led health solutions.
Transportation, Research and Education for Driving Safety (TREDS) conducts research, develops assessment to Transportation, Research and Education for Driving Safety (TREDS) conducts research, develops assessment tools, and delivers interventions to prevent injuries and fatalities resulting from collisions.
Programs are offered statewide that address age-related driving impairments, distracted driving, drowsy driving, pedestrian collisions, and driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs.
Target audiences include health care providers, law enforcement, social service providers, educators, commercial transportation, older drivers, youth ages 15-20, and the public at large.
Programs and products developed by TREDS are nationally recognized and serve as models for other states.
The project manager will play a crucial role in the team, ensuring the efficient and effective execution of research projects and initiatives at the State level.
This role encompasses both project management and team coordination. The project manager will oversee project objectives, assist in creating comprehensive project plans, and monitor progress.
Additionally, the manager will be involved in developing grant proposals, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with research regulations and protocols.
These responsibilities are vital for the overall success and advancement of scientific knowledge.
Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of analytical practices, policies and procedures;
researches, analyzes and develops solutions to a wide range of issues. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
Primarily deals with policies, programs and proposals which are complex in nature and diverse in scope. Develops new programs, policies or procedures for possible implementation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Seven (7) years of related experience, education / training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus three (3) years of related experience / training.
Knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
Analytical / problem-solving skills.
Strong skills in analyzing, researching and synthesizing large amounts of data for preparing sound and relevant proposals / analyses.
Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
Strong policy analysis techniques.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Employment is subject to a criminal background check.
Ability to travel nationally to attend transportation conferences.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range : $67,200 - $119,600 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent : $32.18 - $57.28
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).

Federal, state, or local public health directives may impose additional requirements.
