Position Overview :

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced attorney to serve as our In-House Counsel. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Texas employment law, healthcare regulations, contract law, and litigation.

This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in ensuring compliance, managing legal risks, and promoting the wellbeing of our residents and staff.

Responsibilities :

Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of legal matters, with a focus on Texas employment law, healthcare regulations, contracts, and litigation.

Advise management and staff on compliance with state and federal laws and regulations governing employment practices and healthcare operations.

Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to the operation of the facility, including vendor contracts, provider agreements, and employment contracts.

Conduct legal research and stay informed about developments in Texas employment law, healthcare law, litigation trends, and related areas.

Represent the organization in legal proceedings, including administrative hearings, regulatory investigations, and litigation, as needed.

Develop and deliver training programs on legal issues affecting the organization, including employee relations, risk management, and compliance.

Qualifications :

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Admission to the State Bar of Texas.

Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing law, with expertise in Texas employment law, healthcare regulations, contract law, and litigation.

Strong knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations applicable to the long-term care industry.

Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.

Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Prior experience working in the long-term care industry or healthcare law is preferred but not required.
