- May float to Med / Surg
Job Requirements
- High acuity PCU patient experience
- Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls
- 2 years of oncology experience preferred
- Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity
- Previous travel experience preferred
- Interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Use of rapid response teams
- Feeding tube care and management
- Accessing Ports
- Blood Product Administration
- Central line care / management
- Peripheral Line Care / Management
- PICC line management
- Starting IVs
- Heparin Protocols
- Manage Cardia drips- no titration
- Titrate Cardiac drips
- Chest tubes-Emerson / Pleur-evac
- External CPAP / BIPAP
- High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
- Interpretation of ABGs
- Nasal Cannula
- Tracheostomy Management
Schedule Information
- No set schedule, no set weekends, no block schedule
- Facility determines the complete schedule
- Possibility of working every weekend
- Must be flexible
- Maximum 7 straight days off
- 14-week contract required if taking 7 days off
Unit Specific Information
- 18J is a 36 bed Oncology Telemetry unit
- Over 24 beds dedicated to PCU level of care
- Pediatric patients are cared for on this unit but are extremely rare
